Legend has it that in 1934 during the Nurburgring German Grand Prix racing event the Mercedes W25 was 1 kilo over the allowed weight. In order to correct the problem the managers decided to scrape all of the traditional white paint off the car down to bright and shining silver aluminum. They went on to win the race and the name Silver Arrow was born.
